The same thing first happened to me two years ago. I did some searching on here and found out that the ends of the rear lamp bulbs go bad. Just change the bulbs and you'll be good to go. I've had to do it twice so far.

also to the last post, i had this problem on my 03, and sometimes its not the bulbs, its the circuit board for the bulbs in the rear tail lights, they are pretty cheap. i used to check the bulbs. and when they were all good, change out the circuit board. if you go to LED's like i have , you get rid of the problem.

hey I put di-electic grease or marine grease on the bulb and used a screwdriver to pull the contacts in the socket closer. Good for a year or two now.

My truck did this too. I used the di-electic grease which stopped it for awhile after replacing a lot of bulbs. Finally I just unhooked both battery cables for a few hours and when I hooked them back up and started the truck the light was gone. That was been a few months ago and nothing has come back so far.

That light really drives me crazy....

Yep

Grease the bulbs, they get hot and the leads melt into the bases. If they're too far gone then replace the bulbs, install with grease. Worked for me and haven't had any trouble for 2 years or so.

I had the same problem, when my truck was wired for an additional trailer plug they didnt seal the connections very well and it corroded, i would check to see if there are any splices back there and also your ground wire by the bumper to see if it has corroded away also

On my truck it's the right head light. I pulled it out and greased the contacts with Dy lectric grease. It lasted for quite a while. The next time it happened I bent the pins on the bulb to make a better contact it lasted longer, but happened again.
