Lamp Out indicator
Lamp Out indicator
I had my hazards on for about 20 minutes today. On my way home I pulled out on the main road and punched it a bit, then my LAMP OUT indicator started to go off. The lamp and chime came on at random and I had to listen to it for the rest of the day. How annoying is that? Is there a secret way to turn that off? That chime really nags you take care of the problem right away. Can't imagine being caught far from home when a lamp goes out.
Anyway, as I was driving I realized my turn signal was the problem lamp, it was also on again off again. I picked up a replacement bulb. The manual says 4157NAK but the reference book at the parts store say 3057. Go figure, I went with the 3057. When I pulled the original bulb, I saw why it was intermitent. The bulb filiment itself was fine, but the contact was burnt up and had melted the plastic around it.
Do you all think this is something to worry about? What kinda worries me, is that it happened when I hit the pedal. I'm wondering if any other electrical contacts may have shorted.

I would say hitting the go pedal had nothing to do with the burned bulb other than it was a coincidence and the extra "g" forces may have caused the already burned/ruined contact to come apart.
Do a search for "lamp out" and you'll see a lot of other people have had a similar problem.
