key cylinders in doors

Maybe this is just a brain fart, but last night I walked out to my truck and forgot the key fob is built into the key. Thinking I had left the fob inside the house, I thought, OH well, I'll just open the passenger door with the key.

There is no key cylinder in this door!!!. I would swear that my '03 had one on both driver and passenger door.

my 04 does not have one. Very typical for many of the new cars and trucks.

When KEYLESS enter option is in place the passenger door lock is removed and only the driver side has the lock.

Artie-

Thanks for convincing me I'm not nuts. The '03 I had did have the passenger side cylinder, but then the truck did not come with the factory keyless, I had it installed at the dealership after the truck came in.

Thanks.

It is really annoying that the passenger door does not have one. I probably will be asking for one, when I get back to the dealer I bought it from.. I got it new last month, and will be at 15000 miles, when I get back to the dealer next week...

Why would you need more than one??
I haven't turned a key in one of my doors for about 8 years! Keyless is great!

Yeah, until the battery in the keyless goes dead when it's 2 in the morning and your looking to get home real soon...

Wouldn't it be quicker to get in the drivers side??

J/K, I use an aftermarket 2 way system with a battery indicator so I haven't had to deal with a dead battery so far.
