Going down the road yesterday and heard the dreaded Tone coming from the dash... The Lamp out light was on... Got home checked all the lights and all work....Has anyone had the same problems? TSB?

Yes, mine did the same thing. I would check all of the lights and everything was working. Then drive a Lamp Out come on and ding-ding. I my light finally came on and stayed on. I would check all of the lights at least once a week and never found one that did not work in the drive way. My light was on for about 2 months then dropped the truck off to have door seal TSB and the Service Writer saw the Lamp OUt light and said he'd take care of it. As the porter was driving the truck into the shop and applied the brake the left brake light would flicker on and off only while moving. Bulb replaced and now NO lamp out or dings now. From other posts and talking to the service writer seems most of the time it is the left Brake Light that is the cause, but could be any.

Thanks,

Yep sounds identical to my problem... I did notice one thing today, since my camper shell is wired into the brake lights, would the computer then recognize it's brake light as part of the overall lighting system..... I noticed this morning that the camper shell brake light is made up of two lights and one is out....

Could very well be. I think the lamp out is checking a specific voltage for each circuit. Seems to be very finite in parameters. I guess this is a good thing as it will warn of potential bad bulbs before they actually fail, but determining which is bad is still the old fashioned way for me.

Mine did the same thing. Went a week with the thing dinging at me, but couldn't find anything wrong. Finally got the fast blinking left turn signal.

I had the same problem. It was the left brake light bulb. There are two contact wires on the bottom of the bulb. The plastic under the wire apparently gets hot and melts the plastic. It causes intermittent contact until it melts enough to lose all contact. Hence the lamp out flashing intermittently and then goes out completely. A new bulb fixes the problem until the next time. There has always got to be some little irritating thing that has to go wrong.
