Keyless Entry Question
Keyless Entry Question
I have a 2005 2500 with the factory KE system. I have tried to add a third KE transmitter to the system and when I add one, it knocks another out. Is there a limit of 2 KE transmitters at any one time?
I just read the part of the manual about programming. It says that once you enter programming a FOB it erases all FOBs and all FOBs (new and old) have to be reprogrammed/relearned. So, do the lock, unlock, panic sequence for programming for ALL FOBs.

I had heard that if you have power locks/windows and there is only a keyhole on the drivers side (not on the passenger side), then it has the keyless entry. But, if you do not have a working fob, you have to go to the dealer to get the first one programmed, then you can do the rest using the owner's manual.

I contacted two local dealers when I had mine done, one told me it would take about 45 minutes( I think he was hinting at charging me 45 minutes of labor charges), and the other offered over the phone to do it free. Guess which one I went to. By the way, it only took about 10-15 minutes max.
