Issues with 315's

I need advice. I unexpectedly won an auction on a set of H2 take-offs and I need to figure out how to deal with them. I have American Racing Diamondback 17X8 wheels currently with 0 offset so that = 4" backspacing. I am worried that the 315's will rub when mounted on these wheels, anyone have any experience with similar applications? Also if I need to run a leveling kit, what is involved with the install? With the leveling kit, will the truck be nose high when loaded and if so is there a easy (cheap) way to deal with it?

Thanks for all your help in advance,

Josh

I can't answer you question about the rub issue, but I can address the other concern. With the leveling kit, your truck will be level, so with a load the tail will sag. I installed air-bags to deal with the sag. The kits for the 3/4 ton are an easy bolt-on installation.

I had a 2" leveling kit but removed it after suffering from the DEATH WOBBLE. I now have no problems. With stock wheels and 315's, my inner tire rubs the lower control arm only at full lock.

Good luck, Mike

Mike do you still have the 2" kit? If so which one and do you want to sell it? $? Thanks.

thanks for the tip on the 2" leveling kit, I am concerned with death wobble from what I have read online. I will likely just see if the tires rub in stock form and if its bad, I will sell the complete H2 set.

Check my gallery. I have the leveling kit and 17x8 American Racing Atlas series 660 and the 315s rub at 3/4 turn when going over bumps.

That's why I have a 4.5 inch lift on the way.

No death wobble.

About Scotty ram air photo

Hey there; I changed my oil filter for the first time in my CTD and removed the air tube to access my filter. Do these intake upgrades all occupy that area? or are they easy to remove to get to the oil filter? Thanks

in my opinion, it is much easier to get at the filter from under the truck with a socket type filter wrench...

Yes they usually do. And are usually easily removed.

If you are physically able, crawling under the truck and removing is easier/faster IMO. Just don't forget to use a 1 gallon zip loc baggy to catch spillage.
