help! need ipod connection

i am looking for the best and cheapest way to hook up my new 80gb ipod to my factory headunit. i have a 2005 laramie with the infinity/navigation package.
it seems like some of these $120 ebay cables give "fm sound" as compared to the unit by www.icarkits.com for $179.99 that gives "cd sound" and allows some use of the steering wheel controls.
i am not by any means a techno/audiophile. just need to be pushed in the right direction to make what i have work well.

thanks

I thought I had a solution for you, but then I re-read your post and realized you have the Infinity system. Sorry...

Do the newer Inifinity systems (2006 and up) have an audio input jack? Maybe you could find a newer unit and swap it out?

good point. but i would have to find a used unit- remember what they charge for those things from the factory? it is ridiculous.

I don't think the 06 and up radios will fit without modification. They have the "dumbo ears". You can pick a new one up on ebay for around $100, but I think this a better option.

thanks wild bill. that will work with my rb1 head unit. this seems like the most economical solution.
on their site they have other interfaces that offer more control of the ipod so check em out anyone else needs something similar.

Go to a stereo shop and tell them you want them to wire it through your glove compartment. Its not the cheapest way, but you can hide your Ipod, get the stereo sound to it and can use the steering wheels controls. I have an 06 Laramie with the Infinity system, and thats what I did.

This would do it, plugs into existing stereo connector:
