ipod connection

Any suggestions on how to connect an ipod to the RB4 nav unit in an 04.5? I want to connect directly to the RB4 without having to tune to an FM station. Has anyone done this and know of a good adapter? If so, please let me know where I can find one and if the install was easy or if it needs to be done by a shop. Thanks.

I used a kenwood interface. The thing sound have some sort of AV plug outlet or an aux port to accomodate. I have the iPod in the glove box and I use the display to go through the song lists instead og the little wheel.

Call Crutchfield. I saw a I-pod adaptor in a spring sale magazine and thought about getting one for my RB4. Think the cost was around US $150-200 dollars.
However, I already own a Universal FM modulator, but need to purchase a 12volt power adaptor to charge the I-pod int the truck.

Be very careful on the 12 volt adapters. Some of the cheaper ones do not regulate voltage very well. There have been lots of ipod batteries fried due to cheap chargers. The brands that apple lists on their site are very good ones, and you can purchase them locally.

Yes I have it in my 06 Mega with the sat/nav radio, it's a little quirky, but it is nicer than the fm modulators I have used.

I bought a Pioneer Premier DEH-P590IB headunit
comes with an offical IPOD cable.
hooks right into the bottom of any ipod.
also charges the battery at the same time.

I paid 154 + 25 = $179 off of ebay shipped to my door.
2 year premier warranty.
