Installing new control arms. Do I need to remove the downpipe?
It looks like when I pull the rear top arm bolt out it will hit the exhaust pipe. Anyway around this?

I don't think there's a way around it I had to take my down pipe off to get the bolt out . When you put the bolt back in put it in backwards so if you ever have to take the bolt out again for some odd reasone it's easier to get to .
Many lift kits come with new bolts. Alot of kits say to use a sawzall to zip the old bolt off so you dont have to remove the exhaust. Then you just install the new bolt in backwards like said above.

I'am about to do the same (install DT profab 1/2" forward control arms).
I went to the dealer and bought a new bolt for the upper frameside of the control arms for $5... Got the dewalt sawzall charged up.!

How'd you guys get the axle moved forward? I was thinking about putting it in reverse and holding the brake for a sec. I don't think I need to jack the truck up right?

Red, I was planning on using 2 harbor freight come-a-longs and doing one side at a time.
Securing the steering knuckle to a tree with one come-a-along and the other come-a-along to the back axle. Thus unloading the back one and tightening to front one to get the front axle forward (no jacking of the truck off the ground). All this is of course with the C/A bolts loosened and removed at the right times.

I plan on doing it in the next couple of days..
