Ignition on radio on, go to start and no radio after it starts.
I go to start the truck, radio comes on and then when I go to start it the radio goes dead after I start the truck. Sometimes I can turn off truck, pull key out of ignition, wait about 45 seconds to a minute and then restart truck and it works fine.??But not every time. Bad contact in key switch or maybe a relay...has anyone run into this problem..the truck I'm refering to is in my sig.

what model deck?(should be in the owners manual) standard or upgraded sound (ie infinity)
No do you mean just no sound or the deck actually turns off? Can you hit any of the buttons to make it come back on or does it have to be the vehicle on and off?

The stock system in my truck doesn't have a 'ACC' 12v input to turn it on...it uses a signal from the ECM I believe(?) so it's a tougher troubleshoot.
Is it Infinity or stock?
Can anyone expand on the signal on?

Stock factory deck, standard. It comes on when you turn the ignition on, then when you start the truck the radio goes out temporarly while cranking then its supposed to come back on but doesn't. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. No sound, no display. I can push the time button and it will display the time for about 10 seconds. I had a CD in the deck and it eject the CD and that is all it would do

Hello,
Just went thru the exact same problem. Turned out that the passenger side battery was weak. You will find if you pull the number 11 fuse out and push it back in when the truck is running the radio will always come on. When the truck is running the alternator is keeping the system at proper voltage levels and the radio will work after pulling and reinserting the fuse. This does a hard reset to the radio electronics. The weak battery causes the radio electronics to go into a weird state and the unit will work sometimes and not others. You will find that the time will display when the button is pushed. At least this is all the stuff I experienced. Hope this helps.
