I am going to buy new tires this week.
Sunday I bought 4 BFG 285/70/17 TA KO tires from Tire Kingdom, because the stock 265's sidewalls were cracking at 33K
. So far so good. I also I got mine realigned because I added the bigger tires. It was only $39.00 vs the normal $69.00 being I got them done all at once. Total cost out the door w/warrenty $880.36. I am concerned however because they are only "D" rated and I pull 10K pounds about 300 miles twice a month, but should be OK with the extra thick sidewalls, right
? As a side note the police have set up those auto speed check stands at 2 places in town and when I go past the speed on the sign and in the truck reflect the same speed, I thought that with the bigger tires the speedometer was to read less that the actual speed
.

the faster you go the more the speedo is off. i cannot remember the exact percentage. you should be fine with the load range d and pull 10 k. the load carring capacity is the same but the tire is not as stiff. but your new tire has an extra sidewall ply. nothing to worry about at all. 880$ wow thats alot of money i got a set of 315-70-17 cooper ATR's for like 723$ no warranty(waste of money), no align either, but still i got a good price. eventually i will post the pics

Toyo's ?
I have the BFG 315s and they have worn fairly well. I have 62,000 km and have about 10-15,000 km left. I think one should religously check the pressure and rotate to get the most out of them. 75,000 km will be fairly decent i think. Now has anyone run the Toyo's for the same type of distance. I am interested as well on these 295s. The dealer wants over 1500.00 CDN for the BFGs. How much are the Toyos in Canada ? Anyone ?

I bought 35's at Big O.. They are Pro Comps. Pro Comp or whoever makes them is selling them at buy 3 get one free. I paid under 700otd. They are only a D rated tire. They produced thousands of them in 17" that didn't sell so they are trying to unload them. Contact a Big O Tire store.. I only tow a 23' WW toy hauler loaded is 7k...
Tires
I have 45K on my factory Michelins and they still appear to have 50% of tread left. Unbelievable! If I were going to buy new tires I would have to consider this same tire. No off road, all hwy.

The stock speedo was probably a little fast so with the bigger tires it's now right on! The speedo will change as the tire wears down, 1-3 mph differance from new to wore out.
