Unhappy I am going to buy new tires this week.

I am going to go with the cooper discoverer atr in a 315-70-17. i think that will be a good choice for me, i have the bfg's now and you may have seen my other posts about how much i hate them . I just thought they should have lasted longer, but i think it may be my driving habits . when i get the on i will post pics. I think i am going to be just a little below 800$ for the set. Anbody else getting new shoes??

I'm with you, the BFGs didn't impress me at all. I have not seen a cooper tire dealer here in Austin that actually stocks this tire, where are yours being installed?

Sand Springs OK (just outside tulsa), you may check a tire dealer that is outside the city, sometimes its is the smaller independant tire dealers that handle more coopers. You could also do a dealer search on the web site www.coopertireandrubber.com

I think Walker tire in Austin is a cooper dealer.
I might be able to come up with a set if they dont have them. I can make a few calls tomorrow to find out.

anyone know of a decent replacement tire for my dually

i don't want to go much bigger because of my 5er needing to be lifted already

i usually need tires every year so i am not going to spend a fortune. this is my first dually so i don't have much experience buying tires for one

I ordered a set of Toyo open country m/t 295/70r17 for my truck. HUGE load capacity (3960lbs each),and wear very well from what I've seen on other trucks up here. Have bfg at right now and hate them as well, they just don't last with the weight of these trucks.

My 315 BFG's are gone also, I don't have much good to say about them... I tried to order the 315 Cooper ATR's but was told they were not available for some time ( a strike or something).

Next week 285 Toyo Open AT's are going on, I looked at the 295 MT's but I do way too much highway for that style of tire.

What type of BFG's are you guys having so many problems with??? Is it the All Terrains?? If so yeah I would say I would have to agree with you, I wasn't impressed, but the mudders on the other hand are great.........I have had many sets of those and I love the way the wear and handle....JMO

Toyo M/T in 295/70/17 ?

When did they start shipping/making them? I've heard rumors that Toyo was coming out with something this size, but have been checking Toyo's website and still nothing listed.

Wow!!! I can't believe that you all hate the BFG ATs so much and wore them out with so few miles. I am at over 60k and would be REALLY suprised if I don't get 10-15k more out of them. they are wearing awesome and handle great. wet weather and snow, they rule, quiet, but aggressive enough tread for most. I love them and will continue to run them, even though they are getting pricey, with this kind of mileage, I don't mind so much.
