To take out seat heater buttons, you take off the dash panel, not the cup holder. There is one screw behind the garbage hook and the rest are clips that will release when you pull on the dash piece. Disconnect all wire clips on dash piece (very easy, they can't get mixed up because they are all different) then you can work with the area you are talking about very easily. Just did it two days ago.

If its a Laramie with an HO and 6sp, use a trim stick and pry up the transmission shifter boot from the console, remover the inserts, remove the 3 bolts that hold it to the floor, then lift it up on the back and remove it.

If it isn't an HO and 6sp, try this after you disable the airbags;
(1) Remove the center bezel
...(A) Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
...(B) Open the ashtray and cup holder.
...(C) Remove the one center bezel retaining screw
...(D) Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, gently pry the center bezel free from the instrument panel.
...(E) Working behind the center bezel, disconnect all electrical connectors and remove the bezel.
(2) Remove the airbag control module trim cover.
(3) Open the cupholder and fold down the inner panel.
(4) Remove the two inner screws.
(5) Remove the remaining four screws and remove the cup holder.
