Horn chirp disable - what am I doing wrong?

Per the owner's manual I stand next to the truck, hold down the correct buttons for the specified amount of time, and still no dice. The manual says to hold down the lock button for between 4 and 10 seconds, then press the panic alarm button while still holding the lock button down, finally releasing both at the same time.

No workie.

Am I missing something or do some need to be programmed by the dealer?

I don't have my manual in front of me, but I followed the steps and it worked here. Does it say you should start with the door in the unlocked position, or maybe locked position?

Lock button on controller or on the door? Must have changed it since 05. Mine wasn't anything like that.

The manual doesn't specify whether to start with the doors locked or unlocked, but I tried it both ways. Also, this is done using the key fob. I'll try my other key and see if it does it.

I mashed a bunch of buttons at one time in the walmart parking lot, didn't like the results so I checked here and got it to do what I wanted.

Now mine unlocks all doors with one press and does NOT beep.

I believe if you hold down the lock button for 7 seconds, then press the un-lock you'll get what I have (if that's what you want)

(I think)

Annoying beep!

The '07's aren't cooperating. The dealer supposedly uses their scanner to do it for free. You need to tell them that the manual instructions don't work. They're aware of it.

Ahh, that would explain his troubles.

Dealer do something for free, don't see that too often.

Well there ya go!! I think while I'm there I'll have a few other things done too.
Thanks for the info - I was beginning to think I was nuts since everyone else had no problems.
