horn chirp disable

I am trying to disable the horn chirp that happens when locking my truck and I can't get the procedure to work.

Anyone here have some insight to what I might be doing wrong. Here is the procedure that I am following:

1. Perform this operation while standing outside the
vehicle.
2. Press and hold the LOCK button on a programmed
(i.e. functional) key fob.
3. Continue to hold the LOCK button, wait at least 4
seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds, then press and
hold the PANIC button. Release both buttons at the same
time.

Any help would be appreciated.

I too have been unsuccesful in disarming this feature on my '07. I followed the directions in the manual as you have explained, even had another fellow at work try it; no luck.

Do not think that the '07's like this procedure...

in the 06 there is a yellow addendum that tells how to do it....as the directions in owners manual wont work no matter how much you curse. if you cant find an addendum on yellow paper in back of your book let me know and I will go and copy my directions for you.

there should be something already in archives if you do a search...just let me know. The manual is WRONG though hence the correction inserted in my books.

I was just looking at those yellow pages tonight... maybe I should read them a little closer. Thanks for the heads up!

OK, so I searched the archives and no posted procedure, and the yellow pages I have in my owners manual do not mention horn chirp disable.

If you would post the instructions, there are at least two of us that would be grateful!

Thanks

I to have an 07 that wouldn't work with the manual. Had to finally take it to the dealer and have them reprogram it. Works fine now and the neighbors are happier.

It worked on my 06..I think there was another post where 07 owners were having issues disabling the chirp by holding the panic/lock buttons on the remote at the same time.

My dealer had to program mine... he said he can get it to work like it states in the manual 1 of 10 trucks... he believes its a very exact timed procedure...

On 2007 trucks, the method described in the manual doesn't work. The dealers know about this and should do it for you for free via the Star Scan tool. My dealer happily did mine on the spot.

My dealer had to do mine.

I drove the neighbors crazy trying what the manual suggested.
