Question HELP 07 With electrical probs?

i just bought an 07 5.9 and the first thing i noticed is when you start it anytime, just noticed it at night, the headlights and dash lights will dim-the voltmeter guage drops way down and then it comesback up like normal then it does this again another time or two. is this normal for 07s? and the other thing is the blinker. when you go to pass flip the blinker on and pass shut if off its still blinks for a bit then goes off. or if you just tap the blinker it blinks 3 times. just wondering if my truck has electric gremlins or is this just an 07 change? thanks

Normal! Mine does the exact same thing with the blinkers. The other issue is the grid heaters sucking the life out of your batteries upon startup....

All of these traits are discussed in the owner's manual.

Send it back? Do you,are you or do you have close family member working high up with D.C.? Cause if not it takes a whole lot to send it back cause it has warranty and they take it in and send you back until its repaired.

The reason that the blinkers keep blinking is that they are not just a switch that closes a circuit with a flasher in-line. They are actually a computer program that gets a signal from the switch and the computer tells the flasher how many times to flash. The same thing happened with my wife's Ferd Winstar, dang puters...!!

send it back

no i didn't send it back or haven't yet. and hope i don't have to. but yes i could if i wanted to. this is the 9th dodge truck my family has purchased from the same dealership. lets just say that theyd do anything and i mean anything to get it right. even if it meant tacking a new truck back, know it sounds unbelieveable or rediculous but they are one great dealership. hopefully it"ll be as good as my 04 was to me.

I didn't think my '06 did this (wish it did), but I know my wife's BMW does. It's a great feature for changing lanes.

My 06 dimmed more than my 03 so I did some checking and found the voltage at the battery, when the grid heater was on, at about 10.8 volts.
I checked the batteries with a load tester and had a bad one.
I had only had the truck about 2 months when I found this.
Dealer tested the battery and said it was bad, so they gave me a new one.
Just something to keep in mind.

Blame game.

When I got my '99,I reported these symptoms to the local dealer and the tech blamed it on the popup camper! I didn't belong to these forums and didn't know any better until a neighbor and fellow CTD owner informed me of the situation. Boy,the dealer could have just said "it's normal". No,blame it on an accessory. Jeeeeez!

I've all but given up on relying on the dealer for anything informative. Recently I asked the service writer what the peak turbo boost I should see on a regular basis and he said about 12 psi. I said I see that everytime I leave a stop sign. So he asked a mechanic and said 60 psi. I said, "OK, thanks." and hung up.
