Hitch vs. 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Towing Capacities
Hitch vs. 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Towing Capacities
I've searched for a while and give up........I can easily find the "Maximum Allowable" tow ratings which always come via using a 5th wheel or gooseneck, but I swear I read somewhere there is a different rating for hitch pull. But just can't seem to find it.

If you're referring to the hitch ratings, they are determined by the hitch manufacturers and should be available on their web site. If you're referring to what Dodge rates the truck to be able to tow, that's in your owner's manual.
My B&W Turnover Ball GN Hitch is rated for 30k with a 7500# tongue weight. If you add the Companion 5th wheel adapter your tow rating drops to 18k and tongue weight drops to 4500#.
