5th Wheel/Gooseneck Towing Prep Group

Does any one know if a '13 or '14 was not factory ordered with the towing prep group (the five hockey pucks being cut into the box) can it be dealer installed or is a factory order only.

Just trying to get all my ducks in a row before I pull the trigger on a new one. Do not want to find out after I purchase something the my Super glide will not work.

Consider upgrading 5w hitches when you upgrade the truck.

Check out the B&W Companion hitch. It's a real easy install and the Companion pulls clean from the bed. It was a fantastic upgrade from my old (Reese) hitch.

The frame mount for the new design Ram frame is 6 bolts and done.

And, as for the new Ram truck. I love mine.

Some things to consider... Reese has a new goose pin box out approved for Lippert RV frames, the B&W turnover hitch for the 2011/12 SB is installed 5 1/2 inches ahead of the rear axle with no way to install differently, however this has changed on the 2013/14's it's much closer to the axle center line, I'm still waiting to measure the 2013 B&W hitch if I ever see the truck,. My point is this puts the Reese goosebox being usable with a short box truck if you can get away with the pivot point being at the rear axle center line. Some front caps with cut away corners allow 88 deg of turn from the axle center line.

I have a 14 that did not have the factory tow pucks installed. I do have the parts to install. Just have not done it yet. Instructions say something about lifting the bed slightly. It is line-x ed so not sure if it is required or just a suggestion.
To the OP question. Yes, you can order after the fact. Just need the part number. I don't remember it right off but I know it ends with AB.
I do have a b & w goose installed.

I saw the 2013 yesterday for a few minutes, the B&W is installed into the factory frame mounts and it places the hitch ball center about 2 inches in front of the axle center line.

B&W Hitch

The install on my 2014 Longbed was very easy to do. As stated in an earlier thread, the Ram frame is designed for the B&W or viseversa and works well.

I'm towing #16K in 5-wheel configuration and it tows great.
