Today i went out early in the morning and while i was waiting for the sun to come up, in the cab of my truck, it started to idle at 1000rpm even. The temp. was 13 degrees and the total trip was around 70 miles. I was sitting there for about 5 minutes when it did it. Is this normal? Thanks

 

I think it is normal, mine does the same thing. It will idle right up to the 1000rpm after sitting for a few minutes after driving for 2 hrs at highway speed, it seems to be regulated more by the outside temp. than engine temp.

Yeah, its normal. I remember the first time mine did it, and thinking the same darn thing.

....and if it isn't normal? I'm not worried about it at all.
