Re:HELP!! My Dealer S&*ks
Simply put, find a new dealer and never buy from this one again. The same thing has happened to my current truck numerous times. The last time took the cake. The truck had water leaks in the cab that required the windshield be removed to locate. This was on the fourth trip to the dealer for the same problem. They did find seam sealer had been left out at the factory. To make a long story short, the windshield had to be removed to find the problem. The windshield installer they contracted with to remove the windshield dropped the windshield on the hood resulting in a quarter sized dent. Due to my work schedule I picked up my truck after hours and discovered the dent. I called the service manager at 8:00 A.M. the very next morning and voiced my displeasure. I told him to make a record of the problem but at this time I was not intrerested in having the whole hood repainted and I guess I would just have to live with it. In the mean time a friend told me about Dent Wizard. I had them remove the dent for a charge of $42.40. I sent a copy of the bill to the service department manager for reimbursement. He called upon receipt of the bill and refused to pay it. A call to a higher up did no good so I sent another letter to the owner. He did send me a check but the damage had already been done, all over a measley $42.40! It wasn't the money, just the principle. Every time I took my truck in it had some kind of new scratch. They just don't care. It's just a truck to them. Let them pay $40,000 for one and see how they feel if their truck is damaged. I will no longer do business with them even though the owner's son is a friend of mine, as long as they have the same service department manager. I ordered my 03 from a dealer 150 miles away. The other local dealers wanted to rip me off on my trade.

!!!
the same thing happened to me, except they scratched my lower panels of my dash from the genius that removed my front windshield (tool box I guess). My carpet was replaced, and now the drivers sill is all scratched down to primer from the butcher who tried to remove the power seat. I wrote the owner and told him about my distaste for his 5 finger, I mean star dealer. My truck was back 3 times in 3 weeks. Everytime another scratch or F-up. So much for buy USA, the freakin thing is built by 2.00 hr fritos in guadalahara < sp.Next time I will research about the dealer much more before I spend my hard earned greenbacks.. :'( :

Re:HELP!! My Dealer S&*ks
The FIVE STAR sign is supposed to mean they are pretty darn good. But every Dodge dealer within a 30 mile radius of my house, and thats 5 dealers, has a Five Star sign. I know from exerience that two are butchers. A 3rd, is darn good. So I guess it is a luck of the draw. But by all means, if the dealer and his service dept are bums, find another.
Re:HELP!! My Dealer S&*ks
My dealer is a five star dealer. I really don't know how dealers are awarded such a prestegious rating when they are so incompetent. The first couple of times my truck was in for other warranty related repairs I told the service manager of the miscellaneous damage done to my truck. I also received questionaires from DC the first two times it was in for service. I let them know of my dissatisfaction in regards to the way my vehicle was treated. The service manager would call me after receiving notice from DC wanting to know why I gave them a low rating. Some nerve! You would think he would have a talk with his service technicians but I guess not because the damage would still occur on future visits for warranty service. It also seems strange that I received no more satisfaction questionaires.

I apologize for the length of my previous post but this topic opened up previous wounds. ???

I just ordered a 2003 2500 from Valencia Dodge in CA.,and I had my friend who was a former owner of a Toyota dealership go along with me just to make sure I didnt get screwed. He told me that the customer feedback forms do carry a lot of weight and do get sent to corporate. Take digital pictures and send to Dodge Corporate and cc the service manager. Watch their tune change then!

You as the customer are a part of the 5 star rating DaimlerChrysler grants this status only if a dealer consistently meets Five Star score standards on Customer Surveys.
A third party audit is conducted by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to ensure consistency in the Five Star process.
If your service is poor or damage is done to you truck contact the service manager before you leave the ***********,talk to him in his office...and if he makes any promise get it in writing...if your still not happy talk to his boss...if your still gettin the run around find another *******
Maybe Luke S could fill us in on what it takes to be a 5 star dealer ;D

All of mine did too.
I've found that a 5 star rateing means squat. Both dealers I've bought from had 5 star ratings. The frist was a crook that wanted $400.00 plus to fix a leaking raditor at 56,000 miles on my first gen truck. The second dealer ship has repair men that don't know the differnce between a hammer and a screw driver (never mind asking if they know philips from flat blade). I wouldn't let them oil the training wheels on the grand daughters bike. I had to take my 2 gen truck to a differnt dealer to get a (recall idem) fuel heater wire forgotten at the factory installed.
;DAl

Quote from Dealer "I am sorry for the continual inconvenience. I am sorry that we can not live up to your expectations. I really don't think that you are asking too much. As you know we are still experiencing a learning curve here and we are trying to do our best. I wish we could satisfy you but our defficiencies seem to be to much for you to deal with now. I hope in the future we can get our house more in line with your expectations and you won't be turned off for life. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you" the scratches are still on my truck >
I don't hear anything about We'll repair it. More smoke & mirrors. 5 star my. Time to fill out DC questionair Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

I lucked out with my dealer. I didn't even buy the truck from him, I bought it used, but only 12k miles, so still under warranty. I had the dealer rotate the tires (which involved dismounting and remounting all six tires because of the aluminium wheels). During the process, one wheel got scratched pretty badly. They had the wheel resurfaced for me. It was even an aftermarket wheel. I had the truck in for several warranty items over the first year of ownership, and was always treated right.

DeWain
Re:HELP!! My Dealer S&*ks
I got lucky my dealer is my friends dad. he treats me right because he knows me and knows that I'm alwasy breaking something. lol. but even before I knew his son he treated me being 17 not as a child and gave me what I wanted. He has several dealerships in OHio Kentucky and Indadia. Joe Kidd dodge is the one I go to. if you have been to on of his dealerships just tell them you know Mark and his dad and they should fall at your feet even if you don't they will still treat you right. If not tell me and I will make a few phone calls and make it right for ya.
DM01

My DC questionair is on it's way to them >
explaining my disgust for the situations that occured with my *******. I wonder if they really give a F%#k about the BS that goes on >
with Stealers ducking & running when you bring in a new or used vehicle for repair and you get it back damaged. Sometimes I just want to start over somewhere else and forget. Oh well a new year is coming Hopefully it will be better :
End of whine.....
