Headlight oxidation
Headlight oxidation
I have noticed that the top of the headlights on my truck are starting to oxidize and cloud over. Has anyone else had this happen yet and if so what is a good fix that will last?
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Go to any auto parts store and buy a headlight restoration kit. It does not take much work to make them look like new again. There is more than one manufacture of these kits, but for the two I have used, both appear to work identically.
3M I believe makes a headlight restoraton kit. Plexus is a polish/protectant that you can find at aircraft shops and motorcycle shops. It won't remove the oxidization, but will help keep them looking nice after using a restorer. If they are really gone, headlights wholesale is cheaper than stock, and I was impressed with the quality when I had a rock take out a fog light.
My son was a detailer for a few years in this bad economical times, and he found Simple Green, a not so soft rag, elbow grease cleaned them up. Then keep a coat of good wax on the lens works great. Tried this on an old car lens and they look like new ... without the expense.
