Paint Oxidation

I was looking at the top of the cab of my truck the other day, and I noticed a huge spot of oxidation! What do I do to get it off? I hate the looks of it!

A good grade of wax. Might also use some rubbing compound easily on it first. My favorite tractor I have ever owned was a 61 Massey 65 Diesel (noticed your name} Goodluck,,,Rick

I never used to wax the top of my cab , Untill I seen my father-in-law waxing his then I realized maybe I should be doing that . I always thought out of sight out of mind , but I guess Ive kind of changed my ways.

Yeah, Id do it if I were you. I guess that doof that had it before me didn't do anything to help the truck. I've found a lot of things that he slacked on. Oh well, I can fix them.

You cannot beat them. I have a buddy who has a 60 model 65 diesel that competes at the local farm tractor pulls across our state and pound for pound he has never been beat in his wieght class, now they pull more wieght but he always wins the pound for pound. I have also owned a few 35 diesels one had power steering which is kind of rare, I would have to say again the 65 was my favorite tractor for the small farm I owned and even on the large farm it had many uses, and as far as maintnance they were the easiest tractor I have ever split to perform clutch work on. Goodluck,,,Rick

Wow, there is a Massey Puller? Thats awesome. You rarely rarely if ever see one here in Illinois. I was at a ITPA Pull in Nashville Illinois and there was a Massey Harris pulling. He won his class, of course!

MasseyMan....you probably have split clearcoat, not oxidation, if the paint is original.

Flitz is a metal polish. Some fine grade Turtle rubbing compound will work just as well for a fraction of the price.

I still think that you have split clearcoat.
