Has anyone Installed Seat Heaters?

Has anyone installed a set of the seat heaters from GENO's ? Any reccomendations of others?

The one option my truck didn't have that it needed was the seat heaters!

Thanks, Jim

I had Heated seats on my last Dodge and really missed them on my new truck. I bought the Rostra seat heater from Geno's. It may be the best $100 I've spent on this truck. Unlike the Dodge heated seats you can leave it on all the time. Even when I use my remote start. The Dodge ones shut off if you turn the truck off and have to be turned on everytime you start the truck. The install was fairly easy but I did have to extend the wiring for the switch so it would reach the dash. It was designed to be mounted on the side of the seat. Our trucks do not have anywhere to mount them on the sides of the seats. I feel that the Rostra heater warms up just like the Dodge ones did on my other truck, maybe a little hotter. Overall I'm really glad I put one in. I only did the drivers side.

That's what I wanted to hear!

I think I read that Rostra is an OEM supplier to several auto makers.

I read the Rostra installation sometime ago and it didn't look to bad.

I too only plan on installing the drivers side.

Thanks for your reply. Jim

Go to GENO's web site and look at seat heaters by ROSTRA they have a link to an installation file.

The seat covers pretty much un- clip from the frame and slide up enough to slip a thin panel in the seat back and bottom then hook back. Next is a hot wire to the switch. It's supposed to be a simple install. I see no reason for an upholstery shop appointment. Jim

Definitely no need for an upholstery shop. If you can do simple wiring the install goes really easy. I soldered all my connections and it took me about one hour for the whole job. Mine might be a little easier because I already have my Amplifier under the front seat. I just ran the power and ground to those cables which go directly to the battery. There was a post about the lumbar support ****, I could not remove it and only pulled up the back seat cover enough to get the heating element up there. It would definitely be easier if that **** was off.

The kit came with generic instructions and then Genos adds in specific instructions for Dodge trucks. The only other advice I have is to wear gloves like it says in the Genos instructions. I didn't listen and sacrificed a little blood
