fuel gage not working

fuel gage not working

Hello,my 2006 fuel gage shows empty and fuel light on even thou its full , is there a fuse or something in tank that I have look into to fix, Thanks

There is no fuse in the tank. If you look in your manual there should be a gauge check sequence stand on one leg, stick out your tongue turn on the ignition 3 times and hold down a button or some such nonsense if it does a full sweep it is not the gauge itself. Unsure of the 3rd gen trucks but previous models the sending unit in the tank would commonly fail. You can buy just the sending unit/float assembly I believe or you can go aftermarket

Got her ,arm on float was stuck ,no guessing how much fuel I have in tank now
