Floor Board Punchouts

I'm trying to find a way to run heavy guage wire from the battery to a 1200 watt inverter. I plan to mount it under the passenger seat. Has anyone used these punchouts to run wire? It looks like it goes straight through the floor board, but I thought I'd ask before I tear up my carpet.

Thanks in Advance

I have done it with no problems. The door sills are also removable and there is lots of room under them for additional wires.
If you are going to be installing an inverter aft of the firewall, that will mean it is some distance from the battery. Don't foget to up the cable size to compensate for the increased cable run. Welding cable works great. Also, a cable that size becomes a welder if shorted, so use a fuse right at the battery. I made my own 200 amp fuse and installed it about 4" from the battery. Cost me about $5.
When running wires UNDER the cab and thru the punchouts (they are plugs, not true punchouts) make sure that the wires are well covered against impact. I used some of the heavy duty plastic pipe that is installed in concrete walls and ran my wires inside that. Also make sure that what you run up thru the holes is very well sealed as the water spray in that area could cause leaks.
Let us know how it worked out.

I used the same hole and it comes up through the floor right where the wires are for the power seat (if you have it). So yeah it was really easy. I only ran a CB wire and I encased it in heavy injection line, rubber with plastic on it to protect from chafing, then I put silicone in the hole to keep it waterproof. Worked really good. Hope it works for you.

I ran wires for compressor and two air lines through there for my train horn, works great, slice as little carpet as possible and push the wires through keeping a somewhat tight seal.
