First Dealer Experience and I'm POed!

Let me start off saying I've had my truck for over a year now and not one single problem(knock on wood). I took it in to the dealer today to have the two recalls taken care of (Roll Over Valve & Anti Lock Brake Module). A few weeks ago I got the parts to do the vent recall mod myself. Two 18 inch hoses, t-fitting, filter, ect. The front hose slipped right on, but I could not get the rear to slide on for the life of me. OK, I will let the dealer install the rear hose as I had to take it in for the brake module anyway.

I told the service writer that the front vent was taken care of and handed him a new 18" hose for the rear and asked if they could use it instead of the short hoses in the recall kit. No problem. A few hours later I pick up the truck and he tells me the tech didn't need my hose as the recall supplies hoses. I said I knew that, that's why I wanted the longer hose on the rear. He looks at me with this blank stare so I say "where's my hose?" and he said on the front seat. I said thank you and walked out.

First thing I do when I get home is slide under the truck to take a look. Not only did this imbecile use the short hose on the rear but also replaced the long hose on the front with a short one, and kept my hose! What's the matter with people? Is it me?

On a side note they did not mention anything about my mods.

That`s the normal way of dealers today. So what`s the lesson here....Do it yourself. Sorry for the lack of kindness, but never let someone do things the way you want it done. Unless of course your paying for it. Now go and get your hose back and install it like you should have in the first place. If you did half the job and brought the truck to me, I would tell you to bite me. You started it, you finish it. END of FREE Lesson...
