3.75% for 60 months thru my credit union. Don't know my exact FICO, but I know I've got good credit.

You should be able to get 6 or less percent; I think the national average is somewhere around 5.5% right now.

Don't leave without signing all the papers and if they tell you they can't get it the way they promised, tell them you'll be back to drop off THEIR vehicle. They'll suddenly find a way to make it work. I've also seen them call and say they made an error and you need to come in with $1000. Tell them nope and if they push it... see above.

I agree that that final price financed does sound way too high. I mean, if the truck invoices at 42.6K, you should be able to get if for 1K less, minus rebates (2.5K I believe, plus any holiday, military or farm bureau stuff) which puts you at about 39K and if you're going to drop 6K on the front end, you're down to 33K financed if I've done my math right (check it, though, math in public's not my forte). That's quite a difference in the monthly payment!

And, it's the end of the year and the end of the month this week, so they're looking to make numbers and might be even more generous on the price.

When we got the wife's Toyota van the dealership was offering over Blue book for your trade-in plus 0% financing. Before going in I figured out what the payment should be if we knocked a couple grand off the sticker price. When we got there we were informed that the 0% was only if you put down 20%. They also were beating around the bush on what they were giving us on the trade in. I told them that I wasn't playing that game and got up to leave 3 times. Of course they don't want to let you go so they kept coming down on the price and going up on the trade-in until they were able to give me the van at 5.9% with the same monthly payments as I had figured I would pay at 0%. I'll never buy from that dealership again but we were happy with the deal after 3 hours.....

the invoice pricing is 42k and taxes 6%. no rebates are applied as of yet i'll have to wait till the truck is which is about 8 weeks so that is about in FEB. around my birthday(nice present huh!). that when i used the rebates which should be better than what they are now. BTW I will not accept the vehicle untill it passes my QC check.

It's ironic that I mentioned the old dealer "BS" earlier in this thread, a guy here at work just picked up a new truck two days ago, the dealer signed him up on a contract with a rate and term that they were "pretty confident" they could get approval on, whell guess what, they called him this morning and told him he's approved but his rate is two points higher, and he'll need another $2000.00 down!

This scenario is playing right into what the dealer hoped for in the first place, he's been driving the truck around for two days, he's in love with it, and I'll bet he goes and signs a contract for the higher rate and coughs up the extra cash.

I'd like to think he'd take my advice and just return the truck if the dealer can't honor the original contract, but I doubt he will, he didn't listen to me two days ago when I went over this exact scenario with him.

18 months ago, DC was offering either financing at 2.5% or $2,500 rebate for all Heavy Duty models. I took the $2,500 rebate and was planning to finance thru my credit union for $32,500 at 3.99% for 60 months with a 790 credit score. When signing the bill of sale, the dealer (in OH) offered to match the 3.99% rate with an outside bank from Rochester, NY. I agreed, and mailed in payments above the minimum amount for one year.

6 months ago, my credit union was now offering to re-finance any '03-'05 model year vehicles at 3.49% for 48 or 60 months. When combined with the ease of online funds transfers to make the loan payments, and no additional fees for the re-fi, I couldn't pass up this offer. So I signed up for another 60 month term, but I've already got 1/3rd of the truck paid off so it's the low APR that I really enjoy. Just in case something should happen, I would be able to continue to make the minimum payments and prevent the credit union from having to repo my CTD!

i just walked out with my new 2005 Laramie 2500 4x4 CTD on thursday. i got the 0.0% for 48 months and the $1500 rebate. no trade-in, and i put down $19K.

William is that MSRP or Invoice plus taxes? I got my 04.5 for right around 31,000 before taxes and MSRP was 39,900.
