Fender Flares???

Hello everyone I’m new to DTR and this is my first post. I Just put new 285/75/17 Toyo A/T’s tires mounted on Helo Max 8’ wheels on my new truck. Unfortunately the new rubber sticks out farther than I like forcing me to invest in fender fares. I figured this would be a good opportunity to say hello and tap the knowledge and experience of DTR members. So here is my question what brand and model of fender flares do ya’ll suggest. I’ve been looking at the bushwacker pocket flairs, but was wondering about their fit and finish before going through the expense of buying and paining. I also don’t want to do any drilling or cutting if possible. THANKS IN ADVANCE !!!

i have the warn extenda flare, i think thats what it is called, they are smooth, cover about 1.5" to 2" perfect for my rim and tire combo, and look clean, like the dodge power wagon.fit is good,no drilling probably would even look good on your red truck with out painting them.

ats flares are well made, and can be ordered in any factory color- the paint quality is great.

I have the Bushwacker extend a fender flares. I think they are 1 size down from the Pocket Flares. They went on in a couple hours. It was hard putting the dam rubber edge on the flare. I chose not to paint mine as they go well with the black mirrors and other black molding. Definately keep the dirt off the truck much better as my rims/tires came out an extra 1" from stock. The fit and finish look good and they work well also.

I put on the ATS flares. They give 2" of coverage and I left mine unpainted as the truck is black.

I second this. My girlfriend and I put mine on easily! Bought them prepainted white to match the truck in my sig. they look great and the paint is outstanding! I drive a lot of gravel/dirt roads and prior to the fender flares and mudflaps, the cheap dodge paint was chipping like crazy. These flares are now holding up extremely well. One of the best add-ons on my truck yet!

Do you still have the Power Wagon flares on? If so, do you want to sell your other set? I put Power Wagon flares on my truck (Black '04 2500 2WD 295/45x20 tires) and they could stand to be a touch wider. The P/W flares are WAY better than nothing, but something wider would be better. Hi folks. I am also thinking of flares. I have the factory chrome clad wheels and 285 Michelin AT2's. This combo is close to the factory dimensions. I am thinking of the Power Wagon flares and leaving them black and on my silver truck. What do you all think of this tire size/flare style/color combination? Also, while I am here, do the Mopar mud flaps I installed have to come off the truck to use these flares? Thanks a bunch. Don in Utah.

I'm in the same boat, I ordered the bush wacker pockets but I will have the stock wheels and tires for a while so I may not install the flares until I get some 285's. The dealership wants $375 to install them as well. Does anyone have any pics they want share ?

$375 to install $400 flares- that's rediculous! do it yourself, and put the $375 towards some 35's. if you have to pay someone to do the install, it shouldn't cost more than 1 hour shop time- no more than $100.

I have the Brushwacker extend-a flares, 2 inch if I remember. I have had no problems with the fit and finish, but I had to have them painted locally. I haven't been doing much offroad in my truck, so can't speak to how well they'll hold up over trail driving.

Do those bushwackers attatch with tape at the top? It kind of looks like they just have the round rubber bead. Any dust/grit in there will play havoc with the paint in short order. ATS stick along the top with double sided tape.
