Factory Security System Sensitivity
Hi folks,
The factory security on my '05 (see sig) is driving me crazy. It is way too sensitive and chirps and even goes full tilt for every little thing - and sometimes even nothing.
I've scanned the Service Manual, but don't really see anything that addresses sensitivity issues. Has anyone else experienced this? I hate to take it in to the dealer if it's something as easy as some potentiometer that could be "tweaked".
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Which security system. I have the EVS-I, something like that anyway. There is a potentionmeter on mine that is under the dash on left side/door side of steering wheel. There are no instructions to adjust it, but the service tech show it to me. This is factory system installed by dealer.

You should have a separate manual on the security system. It tells you how to set the sensitivity. The EVS-1 system does have an override button, this is usually located at/near the computer connector under the dash. Again, the manual that came with the truck alarm system discusses all the settings and how to activate, de-activate, and adjust.
