For the same money get a non-factory unit that actually allow you to use it while driving.

Try this web site. They offer all the colors of the Navigation dash for $88.00 and the Navigation unit is $2100.00. The nice thing about this is you can change out the color of your dash if you like. I went with the gray/carbon look dash like the SRT-10. The factory Navigation is pretty pricey. I went with the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 (close to the same price), you can do a lot more stuff with this one. Bluetooth, backup camera, plays XM/Sirius/AM/FM/CD/DVD, you can do surround sound, etc. This thing is amazing.

Rockcrawler,
Does the Pioneer allow you to listen to music while using the gps at the same time?

How does sirius work using the unit?
Thanks

If the '06 is the same as the '07, you can have mine for a nice price in about 3 weeks when mine is out.

It sure does!

As Rockcrawler said, this thing is just amazing.

Most places are blowing out the Z1's for $1500 brand new because Pioneer just announced the release of the upcoming Z2. For just a hair over $2k you can get the whole ball of wax (Z1 with HDD/DVD/Nav, TV Tuner, BU Camera, Ipod, & Bluetooth).

I got mine from a member of another site. MrCD1 sells them on e-bay all the time. Go to e-bay and search REC NAV... I love mine....

Z1's are going on amazon.com for about $950 now so you can probably get lower prices somewhere else on the net.

All the aftermarket units I looked at were not available with milti disk. That means you either have the Nav Disk in or a music CD.
I went with the factory unit and I really like it.

Why cant you use the factory nav while driving? I dont have mine installed yet, but it dosent make sense that you would have turn by turn navigation and not be able to use it while driving?

That's why the Z1 is so nice...it uses a hard drive to store all nav data and this makes it faster than a DVD-based system. Never have to worry about carrying/losing a nav DVD and you can even store 10gb of music on it too so you never really need to carry music CD's around.

$950 is an INCREDIBLE price for the Z1! I paid $1500 just a couple months ago and that was a smokin deal at the time. For under $1k it's a no brainer.

You can use the nav while driving, you just can't enter in address/destination info or do searches while driving. I think just about all nav systems have that safety feature built in, but some are easy to bypass and others aren't.

I put mine on top of the A/C tube that runs just under the dash up towards the windshield. It works perfectly and was easy to reach/stick on. I would make sure to extend the wire out as much as you can, just in case it too is used as part of the antenna.
