Exclamation factory cab lights

I had my truck in the shop today for several small things, one of which was water dripping from drivers door, well they told me it was probably coming from the cab lights which had water in them, the original gaskets were defective and they are replacing the lights with water in them and replacing all the gaskets, just figured I'd pass this along oh yeah, they wouldnt fix it as a recall even though he said they were experience alot of these problems, it must be fixed under warranty

Cab Lights

I never have noticed any leaking inside the cab or any collected water in the cab lights on my truck, but did here recently have all five roof clearance lights replaced under warranty due to each one of them havings what I call stress cracks. Some of the lens were worst than others. I could not actually feel the crack on outside of lens, but the cracks were very visable at night especially. I was afraid they would start leaking soon. Looks to me probably replacing them every couple of years since my truck is exposed to the elements 24/7.

It's a common issue with the 3rd gen trucks. Guess I have been lucky so far, no cracks or leaks yet.

Same here. No leaks yet and I keep forgetting to check them to see if some extra goop would help them.

Don't do it! You are just asking for leaks. They look cool but are not worth the headaches. Never again for me. I'll get a 3/4 ton if need be.

Go to your dealer and buy the cab light kit. It comes with a template for drilling in the roof and all wiring needed.

I installed some on my 05 last week. Then I saw that the 06's are using rubber gaskets around the edge unlike before.
