Factory Cab lights leaking

Has anyone had their factory clearance lights leak? I've found I get water in the headliner after it rains. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix them? I'd hate to have to silicon them on.

Common problem on these trucks. Currently mine leak also. Getting ready to update the lights with a smoke set and probbly will silicone the hole through the roof with clear silicone to prevent water coming in versus putting silicone around light.
They do have a TSB for this problem, that includes newer gaskets, but have heard they still leak also.
Another cause for leaks is housings crack to let water in.
Hope this helps.

Here's a link to the TSB.

I think even after having the TSB the lights will leak. The factory and the dealer will install the lights to tightly, causing the lights to either crack or tweak out of shape or both. When my first Gen 3 trucks clearence lights started leaking (that was a crA**y weekend, long story) I had the dealer replace them and told them to "lighty" tighten them. And guess what? They listened. No more leaks.

Unhappy

Well after four years of owning my 03 I finally seen water dripping out of the drivers side sun visor clip and the passengers side grab handle yesterday after I washed the truck. I had the dealership replace all five of the clearence lights before the warranty ran out way over a year ago due to lens having stress cracks in them but I never noticed any water leaking in cab with the original clearence lights or with the replacements until yesterday at the car wash.

A quick look at the clearence lights I did not see any stress cracks in the lens, like I said it was a quick look. Looks like I will be trying the clear RTV silicone in the screw holes and a dab on top of the screw head to see if that's a fix.I thought I would be one of the lucky one's and never have to deal with this leaking problem.

I just noticed that I have some stress cracks on three of the lens. I ordered all five replacement lens. They have a real nice bead of some kinda sealant around the outer edge. I will post back when I get them installed.

Do not use the ones for the 03-05. These are the ones with the bead of some silicon like material. Get the ones for the 06 and later. They are a new design with a separate base gasket. I lost count of how many early style ones I replaced before the 06 style came out. Since installing all 5 of the 06 style approximately one year ago, I have had no leaking issues.
Now I probably went and jinxed it.
