Red face Factory antenna location for the satellite radio

Anyone with the Sirius satellite radio factory option on a 2006 Mega Cab out there?
If you got this option from the factory, where is your antenna located?
It should look like a black wedge (about 3 inches) somewhere on the roof.
Thanks

Yeah, that's where I've seen all of the factory installed Sirius Sat antennas. Why do you ask, is your missing? Maybe you didn't get one and you thousght you should have
Remember the Sirius Sat antenna must have direct line of sight to the sats to recieve them.

No I didn't get it as a factory option because it was really really hard to find the exact truck in the color that I wanted over some of the other options like satellite radio, but I bought the sirius sat. kit from Mopar. I have the wiring harness to the radio and the sat. receiver already installed, except the antenna. The instructions shows it being installed about a foot from the third brake light, but I'm wondering if that's where they're installed from the factory. To date, I haven't noticed any antenna up there on any of the new trucks that I've seen. It could be that because the truck is so high, it's not visible unless you climb up to look. I want to make sure it's going to be installed in the same location as factory option.

I also wonder if I still get the 1 year free subscription since I purchased the OEM receiver from Dodge. If it was from the factory, a year subscription is included.

Thanks

I believe the one year subscription is only available if it's a factory install. My Magnum came with Sirius sat radio from the factory with the one year free subscription.

The antenna is located just ahead of the 3rd brake light. If I'm not mistaken the Mopar antenna needs a hole drilled in the roof. You can buy a aftermarket magnetic antenna and place just ahead of the 3rd brake light and run the wire through the 3rd brake light lens seal for a no drill solution.

The kit should have come with a template, and put something between the headliner and the roof so you don't drill through it! It is just in front of the 3rd brake light, but not too many trucks come with it from DC!

If you don't mind drilling through the roof the OEM antenna is awesome. You really have to lean on it to lock it in, but it's not moving once it's on!

I did the factory install on my 03, and someone else has said, get your self a piece of metal about 12" long and 3" wide and stick it between the headliner and the roof after yo have removed the third brake light. If you don't you will have to remove the headliner and repair the third brake light wire that yo just cut with the drill bit. Yo can pick up a drill bit set from Home Depot. Make sure you get the correct size, because if yo drill too big then the antenna will not set properly and you will have a water leak.

I think , at least in my case it is back there because of the navigation gps antenna under the dash.,I had a portable reciever before the factory one and it messed up my gps. I installed mine using the directions. Bit size is crucial when you drill. Pretty easy with the directions. I stress this because I am famous for throwing them away . Do a search here,I think there are some pics of a hood installation also.
