Factory 6 Disc CD

Granted the factory radio isn't the greatest thing, but for some that aren't looking to blow windows out, are they holding up ok? I found a used one online, and I may pick it up, but would like a little feedback first.

I know, I know that I should go after market, but I'm going to wait a bit for when a bad aced unit comes out.

I had to ha e mine replaced under warranty in the first 2-3 years, with a "remanufactured" unit, but no problems since then. It's still working fine (knock on wood!).

I bought my truck used with 27K miles on it. Right away, I changed the stock single CD for the factory 6 disc. I bought it used off E-bay.

IMO, the sound is just fine. I listen to CD's (MP3) most of the time; I rarely listen to the radio. The truck now has 83K miles, and the stereo works just fine. If there's been a degradation in sound quality, I have not noticed it.

The swap was a piece of cake. Once you get down to the actual radio, you simply unplug one and plug in the other. It's like the new radio was made just for that dash.

Mine is still working fine,I got one of those tape things you insert into the tape drive so I can play my Iphone music on it and I still make my own music cds as well from time to time,if anything I would say the speakers are less than premium quality.Dodge is always the last company on earth to ever add technology to their products, like an mp3 jack or LEDs etc.

I spend almost two hours per day driving back and forth to work. The six disk player is perfect for audio books, and is holding up well. When playing the radio or music CDs, the sound quality isn't exactly up to Bose standards, but works for me.

Had mine replaced last month with 130K miles on the truck. Dealer said it was an internal short. There are no new factory radios available, they use remanufactured ones and provide a 12 month/12K mile warranty on them

The 6-disc CD player has stopped working in my '06. Everything else still works. Luckily I really don't listen to CDs anymore.
