I too would love to see an option from the manufacturers to have a "quality, durable, thicker" paint job when ordering versus the poor quality they're pumping out today.

Ha ha I'd love to see that one in the option book
"Sir would you like to upgrade your paint to a durable paint job rather than the thin crap that comes on these 40g beasts?? "
I think it would be a tough upsell myself. Kinda like the $20 undercoating they try to sell for hundreds. But I must agree the paint on this truck is junk compared to my last '98 truck and my '96 car. Things have changed and it is not for the better. I can see me needing paint in two or three years.

Re:Extended Paint Warranty - BS !!
Gentlemen: DC and Ford are in financial difficulty. DC lost 1.3 BILLION last quarter. If these two had to pay their arrears to their pension funds, they'd go belly up. DC offers lousy paint on a wide array of vehicles, not just the expensive Dodge Ram. Jeeps and Mitsuibishi and Chrysler, etc. I've had 4 Powerjokes (the "97 F350 would skin a Cummins) and the paint was better by far than the DC crap. Our '01 Cherokee was painted again as it self-destructed.
I ride around alot (150K milesper year) and the vehicles that pass with no paint on the roof are invariably DC.
The friction from air has simply removed it.
DC ain't losing money cause they have a quality product.

100% agree. Sandy has a 2000 Ferd 250 just at 188k and his paint looks better than mine at 26k. He runs a sand pit so you know where he drives. The paint is poor on these trucks.
