Grid Heaters......Check.

It was a brisk 48 degrees when I left the house this morning. While idling during warmup I noticed the truck running a little different and the headlights going from bright to dim over and over again. I also noticed the wait to start light stayed on for about 10 seconds instead of the usual 4 seconds. First time experience for me. ;D

Mine are working well too. With temperatures getting cooler here in MD, mine have come on a few times in the morning.

Re:Grid Heaters......Check.

30F here this morning. I also noticed my headlights dimming and getting brighter after startup. I also noticed my heater fan slowing down and speeding up after start up. Someone has posted that this is a result of the grid heaters operating on cold mornings. As the truck warms up the dimming stops. I guess the current draw is normal as many posters have writte about it.

Re:Grid Heaters......Check.

Mine cycled for the first time here in SW Arkansas this morning. I didn't realize they kept working after the engine started so it took a few seconds to figure out what the clicking noise was.

Wait 'till Hoss has the truck idling first thing on a cold morning (which he might never see in Texas :) goes back into the house for his cuppa coffee, comes back out and it's idling higher! ;D

Re:Grid Heaters......Check.

My high idling stick takes care of that.

Re:Grid Heaters......Check.

Grid heater? What is that needed for? Should I have one or go get one?

77 degrees today, blue skies, and the snook are biting - - better come home, Spots.

Somehow I think you need one less than I do.

I'm starting to get deja vu from last year about this time when hottubbob was showing off his polkadot bathing suit to all us canucks!

Re:Grid Heaters......Check.

Just got back from The Bahamas. Saw a few rigs like ours, but I doubt any of them will need to be plugged in.

I attended college in Gunnison, Colorado, and with temperatures well below zero (I remember one morning it was -35), my headbolt heater was the only reason my 1950 Ford started right up, and was blowing hot air while other vehicles around town couldn't even turn over.

Where I live now the temperature can also drop below zero, so am sort of anxious to see how the heater on my 2003 works out.
