I received a letter from Daimler Chrysler on an extended warranty. The name they gave it was "Added Care". I was wondering if anyone has chosen to use this new warranty. It sounds better than most I have read about, especialy since it comes from the factory. But it doesnt cover everything like the original warranty and it has Deductibles. I'm not really sure if its even nessesary to bother covering the engine since Cummins has that for the next 70,000 miles or so but I think it covers truck and motor. Dont have much time to decide whether or not I want it. Thanks for any opinions.

Call your dealer and talk to their finance person. Tell him/her that you are interested in a DC extended warranty. There are several levels available. I have a 7 year/100,000/$0 deductible Maximum Care Policy. The Maximum Care is a bumper to bumper policy like the original 3 year/36,000 mile. DC factors in the original engine and drivetrain policy the truck has.
Don't be afraid to shop around either -- there are are several dealers online that sell factory policies direct ( an online bonus is that you won't pay extra sales tax if the seller isn't in you state).
Just my $.02 -- Buy FACTORY policies not aftermarket policies.
