electrical problems

Hello my name is petit and i`m new to the board.so bear with me.
I have a 2006 dodge diesel mega cab 4 by 4 the problem just started when I turn the key to start the engine every thing works but then when you start it the radio quits and I have to wiggle the fuse to get it to work.
the dealer said that the newer diesels have that problem that the fuse has a plastic thing around it and that preventd it from making good contact got rid of plastic but not the problem.any one has any ideas.

electrical problems (radio)

Hey I got the same problem, same situation, so you are not alone. Some people said it was due to one or both batteries being low voltage but both of my batteries are fully charged. I disconnected both batteries and checked voltage seperately. So hpefully some has had this problem and corrected it

If you can wiggle the fuse and get it to work then it has to be the fuse or fuse holder. I'd try prying the prongs of the holder closer together.

electrial

thanks i tried that and it is still the same.the dealer told me to get rid of the plastic holder around the fuze which as he said all dodge diesels have that same problem.i do know is that one of my batteries has low voltage do you know if that might be my problem? when the radio quits i get fire from both sides of the fuze so thats not it. i would hate to take the radio out but if i have to i have to.
thanks

if you have to replace a battery, do them in pairs. I have been around these for a while now and not once have I heard

"all dodge diesels have that same problem"

this is nutty and lazyness of a dealer to not want to find the issue or fix the problem.

Did you post that in the correct thread?

They are talking about fuses, radios, and batteries.

EDIT: Found it! You also posted in This Thread But glad I looked because I think I am going to need a new motor!
