Electric Seats

My seat back has layed all the way back and the switch won't move it back up. Is there any way to manually move it up without dis-assembling the whole thing? It's under warrenty but need to fix it this weekend.

I finally traced the problem to a bad switch. The one that adjusts the seatback is dead on one side. I ran a jumper to the up wire and raised my seatback up and removed the switch so it wouldn't recline again.

If you take it to the dealer for warranty work, I recommend you reinstall the switch. There are two motors under the seat base that have plastic gears, which have a high failure rate and tend to hum while depressing the switch. The dealers SOP is to replace the entire seat base (part#05080615AB) since the motors are considered non-serviceable parts of the base. I believe the approximate price for one seat base lists for 565.00.

Check out 2men1garage.com they have replacement seat motors for either up/down, forward/back. Motors run about $90 bucks

Good work tracing the problem and resolving the immediate issue (seat laid back). Since you say it's still under warranty, let the dealer worry about the permanent fix and its cost.
