Dtc P2509

What does this one mean? Truck is running fine. Disconnected batteries and the code did not go away. It appeared after the truck would not start due to weak batteries and was boosted.

Any ideas or assistance would be great. Thanks alot.

P2509 Ecm/pcm Power Input Signal Intermittent

You can view a list of trouble codes by going to the DTR WIKI at the top of the page. Once there, click on fault codes highlighted( blue) on the right side of the page.

Sounds like you may have a bad battery(ies). If your batteries are ok. Check the ground straps, one on each side of the engine block. In addition, you will find one on the drivers side fender, next to the battery. Even if they look good, remove and clean them, you may have intermitent power to the ECM.

Also thanks for the info on the DTC I did not know.

Cheers

No she was working fine except for that code. I was worried I had cooked something during the boost.

I had that code come up, along with a Check Engine light. I cleaned the battery connections, which was needed, but it didn't clear up the code or CEL. I disconnected the batteries (pos cables) and left it for 1/2 hour (takes a few minutes for everything to reach 0 volts), then reconnected everything. Started up and drove. After about 100 yards or so the Check Engine light went away and the code no longer showed. Hasn't returned after 800+ miles.

So had the same problem again. Truck sat there for two days and would not start. Had to boost it. Ran fine. Drove to work and then had to boost again. SES (Service Engine Soon) light on with code 2509. Again checked the grounds all were good.
The following grounds were checked;
engine block driver and pass side
fender grounds behind batteries driver and pass side
driver side frame rail behind front tire and wheel assy
Question where does the ground go on the driver side battery that goes down and gets tied in with wire harness going to fuel filter? It goes towards the engine block and joins a pretty big wire bundle.

So I cleaned the batteries again and charged them. Pass side battery took about fifteen minutes to charge but the driver side took all night. Charging system is working and puts out about 14.5 volts. Tester said batteries are good. Just one it seems is dying.

The SES went out today and truck is working good. Any ideas. Do I have a bad battery? Any ideas or info would sure be appreciated. Don't like seeing my Dodge with the hood up getting a boost...thank God it was another Dodge! LOL
