DRW conversion just as strong?
DRW conversion just as strong?
Looking at doing a DRW conversion using the kit from Chromewheels where you bolt on the adapters to the rear axle and then the wheels and tires. My questions is will this be as strong as the factory dually axle? I need the xtra weight carrying capacity from the 2 extra tires with the dually for a 5th wheel I am looking at. Thanks!
I know 3 people who have used the kit at chromewheels and they are very satisfied with it. Has everything you need to get it done right. I believe the wheel spacers end up having 5/8" lug studs rather than the 9/16" studs we have now, so a little stronger lug stud. Stock Dodge wheels will not fit unless you drill out the lug holes, but what you are looking at comes with the wheels. I used a similar kit on my 1988 Ford truck, still going down the raod today without ever having one problem - probably 180K miles on that dually conversion kit.
