I have a 2005 dodge ram with keyless entry, no alarm. I was wondering if any of you have added the EVS II 82208985 yourself? Is it easier than an aftermarket alarm to install? Does it come with a shock sensor as well? Will it still activate if the thieves get in through the door handle and manually raise the door lock? One more, does the dealer have to "turn on" security feature in the computer after alarm is hooked up?

I believe you can look up that part number on one of the Dodge websites and when it comes up, you will see a button for the install pdf, click it on and take a look at the install instructions.

I had my dealership install the alarm as part of my original sales deal at no cost to me. I believe the instructions do call for something to be turned on by them once the alarm system is installed, and in fact, I think that once it is installed, if the system is not activated your truck will not run.

I have the instructions, just have to find them, but they are available on line.
