Disable Seat Belt Warning?

OK, OK. No lectures please. I hate the dinger when I don't have my seatbelt on. Of course I always drive with it on, but I want to disable the stupid dinger. I think its under the seat, but with power and heated seats there's a whole lotta wires under there. Anyone know exactly which one and what color?

I would like to know as well, that thing drove me crazy hunting the last two months I have owned my truck. We hunt and train at some properties that have several gates to open and close and the dinger nearly drives me nuts from one gate to the other.

I believe the seat belt warning disable is mentioned in the manual. Check it out.

I cut a blank of plastic the shape of the latch and slip it in when needed. I have installed a small copper wire and jumpered the plug, disconnected the plug (follow the buckle strap down) jumpered the two wires and re-connected the plug. No problems with lights etc. Also solves that stupid reverse horn issue w/seatbelt disconnected and door open.

I recommended the blank for safety reasons, cause there have been to many documented cases where the shifter is put in park and in fact isn't (not in the detent). Get in a hurry, jump out and the way it goes. Just about happend to me, thats why I pulled the wire and use the blank. If you can get the dodge seatbelt extender, that should work also.

Yeah, in the manual under passenger restraints. You have to follow the instructions exactly, or it will not work. And when the manual says 'at least 3 times,' it really means only three times. It took me a few tries. If you can't get it, PM me, I'll go into detail...

It is. There is a thread in Performance and Accessories that I started that discusses it.

If you put a jumper in between the wires you will not only disable the seatbelt dinger but it also rids the truck of the reverse alarm.

I know how to put it in park and i don't need an alarm to tell me its not in there.

I shorted my seatbelt wires too and it's so nice to not hear that dinger. Now if I could find a good way to disable it when the door is open.

If you read the operators manual somewhere between pages 10-30 there is a section that tells you how to disable the door dinger.

Really?!?! This I have to see! I don't have my doors open much so the inconvenience and annoyance is nothing like the seat-belt thing.

The dealer can also disable it with there programmer/diagnostic thing. Same way they enable the high idle cruise setting.
