Some have theories on the flat stock Vs. boxed steering brace, but i'm very happy with the one from Defiant.
They were closest as far as shipping, and i liked the flat bar brace better then the "boxey" type...
Plus Defiant has pretty good customer service

There is a guy on ebay that sells steering braces for like 140. I have talked with a few gys on here that have them. Said they fit very well and would recommend them to others. Once I get back home I plan on buying one.

I'm running Defiant's steering gear brace and their rockshield. Good fit and quality. Paul provides great service. He installed my Shuttleworth low restriction diesel muffler also. A little throatier and zero drone.

I chose the defiant because the flat stock allows you to run the sway bar drop blocks for a lift or leveling kit. My buddy has an 04 with the Kore leveling kit and he could not run the sway bar drop blocks with the box style brace.

I have the Defiant and the SS rock shield, both are well made quality products, they do the job, Paul is a great guy and great to deal with - excellent PR/service, what more can I say - oh yeah, it fits excellently with my KORE blocks. He even included the longer bolts that I needed to install them with the KORE blocks.

Wrong.
You can run the BD brace with KORE sway spacer blocks. the BD is different than some of the others, the tab that comes off the square tube is different.

I think the tube ones would be stronger, less prone to flexing which is the main purpose isn't it?

Defiant's steering gear brace enables you to use his rockshield which protects all those vulnerable parts exposed in your picture. With a little ingenuity and a sheet metal shop one could be made to accomodate the box tubing offerings. I'd highly recommend one. I use Carli's extended links as my stocker's bent in no time using Lorenz's blocks which are similiar to Kore's.

That just bolts on with the same bolts as my stabilizer and spacers, no reason I couldn't put it up against the frame is there?

('d think a person with a sheet metal bud could have one made up cheaper though)

Just picked up a BD one for my truck this morning at the shop. Installed it when I got home from work in under an hour. Pretty happy with it, turning feels way smoother and I havent done a lot of highway driving yet with it as our backcountry roads arent the best test but I drove a mile down the highway and it seemed to wander less then before. My only steering problem was going down the highway it would wander and I would be always have to counter steer a bit, but I got used to it, so I installed this and I'll see how much better it is in the morning commute.

I thought getting all new front suspension stuff was going to fix the problem but it didnt so I tried this then.

So what exactly does this brace do? I thought stabilizers corrects wandering. My truck has pretty tight steering compared to my 03, the 03 has about an 1"-2" steering wheel play will this brace help any on wheel play?
