I have a 2007 SLT with the fllor console and the manual tranfer case shifter mounted in the console. I have read articles about removing the rubber cup holders and the screws under them. I believe I have read somewhere where you have to do something with the transfer shifter. The article said you had to remove the plate on top of the shifter and remove a nut. It sure doesn't look like the plate, which I assume is the one with the 4H 4L written on it, pops off or if it does I don't know how you would get it off without dinging it or the shifter ****. Anyone been down this road?

I just removed the whole transfer case lever, **** and all by unding the bolts that hold it on.

Does the rubber boot around the transfer shifter just pull up from the console?

yah, it's just held in by those little clip hooties.
