damage to my baby last night!!!
ON my last truck 97 2500 Chevy a wood pile stacked in my garage fell in the night against the truck
I then the next day left to go to work and when I started to pull out (truck backed in) it stopped on its own
I then got out and saw what had happened as a piece of wood rolled under the front wheel stopping the truck. Long story short I did not claim it for 2 years and then the last year I claimed the damage as it was peppered with dents down the side. I ended up getting $1,200 for the damage as the total was $2200 but have $1K deduct. My insurance did not go up State Farm and said since the vehicle was not moving they called it something else than an accident.
Take it to a body shop and get estimates. Hail is not cheap to deal with.
This past weekend I was cutting firewood and needing to grab a tire off a wagon for the flat tire on the tractor
(they fit it reversed on the hubs, front) I ran over a just right sized jagged stick that kicked up and scratched the living daylights out of my drivers door
After hand rubbing the 1' long scratch it is not a visable but left me upset none the less. This was the first of many scratches this 04.5 CTD will get but the first one is sometimes the hardest one to get over. Stuff happens but if you do not claim it why have insurance in the first place.
Wife said she was glad
it was not her driving it when it happened

I did get word back from the ins agent and I have a $1000. deduct. So therefor I will not be claiming it. I have spoken to the guy I had in mind to "paint" the new hood and he said it would be easy to just have him fix my hood. On some friday I will take my hood off and give it to him. He is going to pop as many of the dents out that he can and then fill the few he can't get out. Then block and paint it. I trust him very much as I have seen a few of his cars he painted on the cover of a few magazines "ie: hot rod, and car craft" he has since gotten out of doing the body work full time but is now a rep for a paint company and goes around to all the body shops and helps them with their mixing stations and helps them match hard to do paint colors. I think this will be by far the cheapest and easiest route. Thanks for all of the replies and help. You guys are great!!
