god help us if dodge gets rid of the Cummins next year as rumored

 

It's not going anywhere. Rumors are rumors, but a contract between DC and Cummins is in place way past 2008. The current contract is set to expire in 2007, but that has already been renewed.

 

You will see DC keep the cummins motor,but count on a new 6 speed mercedes auto tranny by 2007.coobie

 

Some rumor I heard way back was that since DC bought Mercedes, they were going to try work that 2.5 litre Mercedes 5 Cylinder Diesel into the Ram within a few years. They are putting them into the Sprinter Vans and Dealerships are selling them like crazy.

Me, personally, I would LOVE to see GM jump on the Cummins bandwagon some day!!

Quad Cab Silverado Dually with a Cummins and maybe the Allison 5spd Automatic!!

I know this a dream, but sometimes dream do come true!

As of right now, all this talk is is rumors, that's all.

 

2.5 ??? Thats pretty small for a Ram. Saw some duel wheeled dodge small motorhomes at travel trailer dealer the other day. They had Mersadies diesels in them

 

Let's not forget that Daimler bought Chrysler - not the other way around......That is why it is called Daimler Chrysler.....big difference since Daimler can call the shots if they really wanted to.

 

Ditto that except a little different truck configuration. Now the Allisons are 6 speeds with a lot of awsom features that I would love to have. They have a feature that loads the engine to aid in cold weather warmups, and a few other new features that are awsome.

 

GMs IFS four wheel drive is junk and the suspension is soft. Not a perfect TRUCK.

 

a big word to that, my perfect truck would not include anything made by general motors. sure they have potential to design a decent HD truck, but the entire GM 99-06 body style is absolute garbage. chevy silverado quit being synonymous with quality a while ago.
