Coolant Leak At Front of Block

Alright I'm no mechanic but I'm just starting to see small drips of coolant leaking from the face of the block at the bottom front. It looks like there is a cover bolted there. Is this as simple as replacing the gasket on the cover or is this the beginning of a water pump problem? Thanks

check your hose going from the bock to rad by the thermostat housing. on mine the factory spring clamp wasn't holding it closed good and was leaking from there and dripping off the front of the block at the bottom.

You're in the right area for a water pump leak. Clean it off and watch it with a mirror.

Thanks for the advice guys, its in right now for a new water pump, seems the gasket is the only thing viewable thats leaking, so with 120,000 miles I'm putting in a new water pump and serpentine belt, I figured its about time anyway..

I just discovered coolant leaking from mine this AM.
I hoped up on the bumper to drain the fuel filter and noticed coolant drops all over the place, looked at the overflow...empty. Checked the radiator, took 1 gal of water, added another 1/2 or 3/4 gallon to the overflow and fired it up, class 3 leak dripping coolant on the driveway. With 111,000 miles I was guessing water pump also, I am going to look at more tomorrow after work.
(drove the 235,000 mile Toyota to work today)
