coolant leak at block heater?

I was under the truck trying to locate a short vibration I am experiencing just for a second or two when putting the truck in gear and I noticed some coolant.
It is just barely wet around the area where the block heater is screwed in with a drop hanging off the heater, anyone else have this problem? Hopefully just a snug with the wrench will fix it because I would to take it in just for this. Coolant is still between min and max marks and the truck is at 15,000 and some change so its not a bad leak. I just hate leaks.

Thanks guys

I have the same thing and would be interested in hearing if just snugging it up a turn or two has taken care of it. Anyone with a leak just tighten theirs?

I have some wetness aroung the band clamp on the lower radiator hose where it goes into the radiator. Sometimes, there will be a couple drops on the ground. Going to have the dealer look at it when it goes in for service next month.

Where does the block heater screw in?

It screws into one of the block plugs on the passenger side of the engine, towards the middle of the engine. You should be able to trace the plug to it, assuming you have the plug. Even if you dont have the plug, you will have the heater with a cap on the receptacle.

Thanks John. I'll check it out, but I think it's just my cheapo plastic band clamp.

well I got mine to turn about another 3/4 turn or more. So far I have driven it about 15 miles and no sign of coolant. I might just unscrew the cord this weekend and get a socket on it and torqe it down to specs.

thanks guys
