Condensation in the brake lights..

I noticed a while back that I have condensation inside the left rear brake light cover. Seems to me these should be air tight??

I wouldn't think that ANY moisture would be good inside an electrical area?
I'm especially surprized since this is a 2006

Anybody else notice this on their rigs?? If so, did you do anything about it??

Thanks!

Mine's doing the same thing on the same side. I actually forgot about it until I read your post. I couldn't see any crack's. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I had that too. Took it to the dealer, they replaced the whole assembly. Common problem.

Thanks for the responses!
I'm going to take it in to the dealership this coming Fri.

I need to get the oil changed, and have them take a look at why the engine light is on too. Kinda irritating since the rig only has ~ 1200 miles on it....

I had the same issue when mine was brand new. I took it to the dealer. They called DC tech and were told to drill a vent hole in the back of the lense. This is the action that the dealer took. What a repair! The right side does it also but I just chose to take no action rather than having a hole drilled in it also.

Ok, update.....

I took it in Fri, and also got the oil changed, and the engine light looked at.

The tail light assy apparently had a crack in it somewhere (they couldn't find the actual crack), but the tech said there was ~ 1/2 cup of water in there!!

So they went ahead and replaced the WHOLE assy with NO hassles!!

Hopefully there are no probs with the new one
